Catherine "Kate" Green (1861-1907) |
Catherine "Kate" Green
The Greens lived mostly at Woorndoo, and were Catholic.
Catholic priest came to deliver the last rites, and said to Catherine as she was dying that she would be going straight to hell because she didn't bring her children up as Catholics. (There was no Catholic Church nearby, but Catherine had wanted her children to go to church, therefore they attended the local Presbyterian Church). Catherine married John "Jack" Murray, son of James "Seanair" Murray and Catherine McDonald, on 21 Aug 1882 in St James Anglican Church, Mortlake, VIC. (John "Jack" Murray was born on 6 Apr 1855 in Skipton (formerly Emu Creek), Vic, died on 2 Feb 1939 in Cheltenham Old Man's Home, Heatherton and was buried in 1939 in Cheltenham Memorial Park, Wangara Rd, Cheltenham.). The cause of his death was Alzheimer's disease. |
